Home / Custom exhaust

Custom exhaust fabrication.

One-off stainless systems, made on the ramp in Ilford. Merges, X-pipes, valved rear sections and tips positioned for the bumper on the car, not the one in a catalogue.

Close-up of a stainless X-pipe merge with TIG welds and heat tint, where four tubes meet in a custom exhaust.

A custom exhaust is the job when a shelf kit does not exist, does not fit, or does not sound the way you described. We measure the car in the air, tack the route, then TIG-weld the system in stainless: mandrel bends, a diameter that suits the engine, and joints that will live under there.

The photos on this site are the sort of work that leaves the workshop. An X-pipe where four tubes meet and the weld is the feature. Downpipes built with a flexible joint and a V-band, as a one-off rather than forced out of a kit. Mid-pipes hung so the weld is not what is holding the system up.

Valved systems

A valve is the practical answer when you want the car loud on a run and quiet at six in the morning. We build the valve into the rear section, connect the vacuum line or the electronic actuator the car needs, and leave the tips sitting square in the valance.

Tell us how you use it. A motorway commute, early starts, and the odd track day are three different briefs. We will say whether a valve is worth the extra or whether a fixed sports box is the better spend. A valve that is not wired, or a vacuum line that is pinched, is just a heavy flap — that part of the job is finished before the car comes down.

Tips

Single, twin or quad. Polished, brushed or black-coated. Rolled, slash-cut, or a larger outlet than stock. The tip is the part everyone sees, so it is lined up to the bumper or diffuser before the hangers are finished. If the valance needs a neat opening for the tips to exit, we talk about that before anything is cut on the car.

Diameter is part of the same conversation. Oversized tube on a small turbo does not make power, and it can make the note thin. We will tell you if the size you have seen online is wrong for the engine.

Why a one-off is worth it

  • The route is yoursAwkward diffs, low bumpers and rear subframes are measured, not discovered after a kit has been paid for.
  • The merge suits the engineX-pipes, Y-pieces and collectors are built for the firing order and the space you have, not a generic drawing.
  • Valved or fixedYou leave with a system that matches how the car is driven, including a valve if you need the car quiet as well as loud.
  • Ready for a fileOnce the hardware is on, a Stage 1 or Stage 2 remap can be written against it in the same workshop.

Who it is for

Book this if it sounds like the car

No decent kit exists

Older cars, swapped engines, and anything with a one-off bumper usually need pipe made for them.

The back of the car has changed

A new diffuser or a downpipe from another job means the rest of the system has to be redrawn.

You want both volumes

A daily that has to be civil in a village and open on a B-road is a valved build, not a delete.

Tell us the car.

WhatsApp a photo of the rear bumper, or call the workshop on 020 8500 7422. We will say what is realistic before anyone cuts a pipe.
