Exhaust systems, built for the car.

Cat-backs, axle-backs, downpipes, valved systems and one-off fabrication. If it hangs under the car, this is the work the Ilford ramp is set up for.

Twin polished tailpipes and a mirror-finish centre silencer on a black car, with heat-coloured welds on the bends.

SK Performance Limited is an exhaust workshop first. Most of the day at Unit 4, Fowler Road is spent measuring, cutting and TIG-welding stainless so a system sits where it should: clear of the subframe, the differential, the boot floor and the bumper you want the tips to come through.

A rear silencer, a cat-back and a downpipe are different jobs. We name the section you are booking, and what it will actually change, before a pipe is cut.

The sections we build

Axle-back and backbox. The rear silencer and the tips. This is the usual route when the centre section is sound and you want a different note, or a rotten box replaced. The detail of resonator and backbox work is on its own page.

Cat-back. From behind the catalytic converter to the tips. The right job when the mid-section is tired, you want a cleaner route for the pipes, or a kit you were sold does not actually fit this car.

Downpipe. The front section off the turbo or the manifold. A sports downpipe or a high-flow cat is what a Stage 2 file is written around. If the car is used on UK roads, the catalytic converter stays in the system. De-cat pipework is quoted for off-road and motorsport cars, and we say which quote you are getting before it is booked.

Valved. A valve in the rear section so the car is civil on a cold start and open when you want it. Vacuum or electronic, routed so the bumper still looks finished. How we build those is on the custom exhaust page.

Why people book the exhaust here

  • Made around this carThe route is checked on the ramp, not taken from a universal diagram that ignores your subframe.
  • Tips that line upSingle, twin or quad outlets are positioned in the valance you have, left to right and at the right height.
  • Stainless, hung properlyTIG-welded joints, hangers that carry the weight, and heat shielding near fuel, brake and floor lines.
  • Software in the same visitWhen a freer system needs a file, the remap is written here rather than sent across town.

Who it is for

Book this if it sounds like the car

A tired or blowing system

Rust, a crushed rear box, or a flexi that has started to hiss. We replace the section that has failed rather than plating over it.

Preparing for Stage 2

The downpipe and the file should be booked together. A louder rear box on its own is not Stage 2.

A kit that will not fit

If a catalogue system fouls the rear beam or sits an inch off the bumper, fabrication is usually cheaper than making the kit behave.

Tell us the car.

WhatsApp a photo of the rear bumper, or call the workshop on 020 8500 7422. We will say what is realistic before anyone cuts a pipe.
